Laboratory of Organic Chemistry of ETH Zurich awards the 2024 Prelog Medal and Lectureship to Sarah O’Connor

The Laboratory of Organic Chemistry of ETH Zurich, Switzerland, awards the 2024 Prelog Medal and Lectureship to Sarah O'Connor, director of the Department of Natural Product Biosynthesis. The award recognizes her outstanding research in the chemistry and biochemistry of plant natural products, with particular emphasis on the detailed elucidation of metabolic pathways and the engineering of novel pathways and compounds for biomedical applications.

The Prelog Lecture was established in 1986 to honor the organic chemist and 1975 Nobel Laureate Vladimir Prelog (1906-1998) for his extraordinary contributions to science in Switzerland. The lecture is organized annually in the fall by the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry.

The Prelog Lecture 2024 will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 4:00 PM, in Lecture Hall HCI J7, ETH Zurich, Campus Hönggerberg. Sarah O’Connor will talk about “Harnessing the chemistry of plants and beyond.”
