Annual Symposium
The annual IMPRS symposium is the central event in the IMPRS curriculum. Doctoral resarchers present their progress in either poster or talk format and take advantage of feedback from IMPRS faculty, peers and guest speakers. They have the opportunity to nominate guest speakers and interested doctoral researchers can take on responsibility for hosting speakers. Furthermore, they can critically evaluate contributions of their peers as poster and talk jury members and use the symposium to promote PhD-relevant activities and information within and outside the Max Planck Society and to elect PhD representatives. The symposium presents a unique opportunity to intensify scientific as well as social links between all involved parties. The symposium usually takes place at the FSU conference facility “Altes Schloss” Dornburg. Each participation earns 2,5 credit points and three contributions are expected over the course of a PhD project.
