German Classes
International scientists are welcome to join a German Class. Entry level (A1) courses are organized by the Beutenberg Campus e.V. Advanced level courses (A2 - B1) are offered by the MPI-CE. Courses are subsidized by the MPI-CE for IMPRS students and MPI-CE international co-workers if 80% of the course units are attended. Otherwise, the participant will incur the costs him/herself. At the end of each course, participants receive a certificate indicating the respective language proficiency level. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, courses may temporarily take place in an online format. Please note, that German Classes are not part of the IMPRS curriculum, attendance is completely optional.

German classes for beginners are offered by Beutenberg Campus e.V.
- An A1.1 course will started on April 5, 2022. Registration is closed.
- An A1.3 course will started on April, 4, 2022. Registration is closed.
MPI-CE
Advanced courses are offered at the MPI-CE by Julia Giser. If you want to move on from the A1.4 Beutenberg course, please contact Julia for the next opportunity (jgiser@ice.mpg.de).
Course A2.1+ will start on May 2, 2022 and end on July 26, 2022. It will be held online and consist of 37,5 teaching units (90 minute classes).
Courses A2.2+ will start on May 2, 2022 and end on July 27, 2022. It will take place in A1.009 at the MPI-CE and consist of 37,5 teaching units (90 minute classes).
The courses take place at the MPI-CE, A1.009 and the course times will be as follows:
- A2.1: Monday/Tuesday, 08:00 - 09:30
- A2.2: Monday/Wednesday, 13:00 - 14.30
