We are interested in the olfactory system of the vinegar fly Drosophila melanogaster. To investigate the olfactory system, we are using genetically modified vinegar flies which we observe via optical imaging. With this technique we can visualize odor evoked calcium responses in the fly brain.
I am responsible for the maintenance of our fly stock with over 1200 different strains. Furthermore I dissect flies for optical imaging and take care of the lab organisation. |
